Automobile Club of Southern California and AAA Collaborate With Dreamworks Animation’s Turbo To Promote Safe Driving The Auto Club 400 Sprint Cup Race Will See The Debut Of The “Turbo” Driving Safety PSA
THE LOS ANGELES – In order to emphasise the value of safe driving, the Automobile Club of Southern California and AAA have teamed up with the 3D racing comedy Turbo from DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. (Nasdaq: DWA).
The joint PSA completes an integration of the Turbo movie, which premieres on July 17 and includes both the AAA IndyCar and AAA tow truck. A safe driving PSA featuring DreamWorks Animation’s racing snail Turbo and AAA IndyCar driver Helio Castroneves will debut on March 24 during the Auto Club 400 in Fontana, California.
We’re thrilled to be a part of Turbo since it will introduce an entirely new generation to the excitement of IndyCar racing. R. Wendy Sabins, Senior Vice President of Marketing for the Auto Club, stated, “We also see the PSA as a productive way to transmit safe driving messaging to important younger audiences.” Because of our sponsorship of IndyCar racing, our connections to drivers, and our work advocating for motorists, AAA is a fantastic on-screen tie-in for Turbo.
According to Anne Globe, chief marketing officer of DreamWorks Animation, “Turbo is inspirational and enjoyable for the whole family, and our hero is the perfect spokes-snail to align with AAA and deliver a message of safe driving.”
“The AAA brand has a natural relationship to our movie, especially given that the summer release date is perfect for family holidays and road excursions,” says the producer.
The promotional activities of the Automobile Club of Southern California will include a member sweepstakes and advertising campaign to support both the July 17 movie premiere and the anticipated home video release later in the year. A four-person Royal Caribbean International cruise on the DreamWorks Experience is one of the major prizes in the sweepstakes. The contest runs from July 1 until August 31, 2013.
Other giveaway prizes include video games and platforms with a Turbo theme, theatre tickets for Turbo, and other movie-related items.
In the fast-paced 3D comedy Turbo, a common snail dares to dream big and quickly. Turbo shifts into fantasy mode when a rare accident suddenly grants him super-speed, and he sets out on an epic adventure to accomplish the seemingly unattainable goal of taking part in the Indianapolis 500. However, not everyone believes that this mollusc has the strength to reach the winners circle. This ultimate underdog can only succeed with the assistance of his stylish, street-smart snail team.
